YES! Rotary Reads

Our club is supporting Rotary District 7780's project to promote literacy by giving books to local children.
York Hospital in Kittery graciously provided space for children and parents to have access to our books.

Books were generously donated by:
   - the Clubs of Rotary District 7780,
   - Volunteers of America,
   - and individual donors.
From July 2015 to February 2017, our project provided local children with over twelve hundred free books.
We welcome donations of new or gently used books.
Please email us if you are interested in donating ...
... or if you need books.

Students who read the most:
     - read the best       - achieve the most       - stay in school the longest.

Reading aloud is the single most important thing a parent or care-giver can do to improve a child’s readiness for reading and learning.

Reading aloud to children for just 15 minutes every day from birth makes them better ready to learn when entering Kindergarten.  They develop the literacy skills needed to succeed in school and will be prepared for a productive and meaningful life after school.
